We are honored and excited to welcome Joy Bonar as part of the ADHD CoachConnect Team!
Joy will be tutoring and working with younger children and ultimately “coaching” that age level as well and I will let Joy share her background and fabulous credentials with you.
To introduce myself, I am a mom, child advocate, birth-PreK and special needs teacher who loves her students. I have worked in the early childhood education field for over 20 years. I have a passion for learning, bucket filling, empowering families, building relationships within my community and serving children with special needs. I have a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in Specialized Studies and an associate degree from Columbus State Community College in Early Childhood Development. Along with my two degrees I hold a Pre-K teaching license and Supplemental Intervention Specialist license from the Ohio Department of Education.
I strongly believe children learn through play and that play equals learning, a reflection of the Reggio Emilia approach. My previous teaching experiences have allowed me to meet the joys and challenges of being an educator. I take great pride in my professional relationships and collaborations with colleagues home and school community. I am passionate about assisting families and children and meeting their individual needs. I model appropriate behavior, provide extra support based on individual needs, take on new challenges, and will create an appropriate atmosphere for learning. Lastly, instruction, assessment, interaction, communication, documentation, administration and classroom management are just additional areas of my expertise. I am looking forward to working with all of you!
